    If anyone is interested in sharing teams, I am willing. I’d like to know what kind of team setups everyone has.

    Sure, why not.

    Light:

    Spoiler

    uu20nF3.jpg

    A mixed phase team, and one of my two most-used setups for Light. Caeda & Azura have Galeforce, but Caeda also runs DC/Pulse Smoke to do Enemy Phase things. Azura’s running Slaying Lance+ (Res) and Fury 3, which lets her eat Chills & Shrines instead of Caeda. Eventually I’d like to get Lofty Blossoms+ & Fury 4 for Azura, I have a Lysithea waiting in the wings for Time’s Pulse already.

    A0xSUF4.jpg

    A 2-tank team that I affectionately refer to as “the Dragon Wagon”, and the other most-used setup for Light...I suspect that I use this more than the Caeda team. Its operation is pretty self-explanatory, I think. Idunn usually does most of the work, and Nagi covers annoying Blues and Bramimond, because Idunn has 37 Spd after Peony’s blessing bonus.

    FYqdAFD.jpg

    I don’t really know what I’m doing with this slot, so I just threw this together. I’m thinking about putting Galeforce Raven in here, mostly to prevent Larcei from taking offensive Chills and Shrines.

    I might swap out Larcei for Mareeta, whose sword says no to Impact skills and Bramimond.

    fTMXyel.jpg

    Hit-and-run Player Phase setup. Obligatory Isolation support to limit or prevent range extension. It also messes with Restore traps nicely. I might replace Fjorm with Mila if I ever get one. In not-Water season, Brave Lyn is used instead of Leif.

    wIVVb4Q.jpg

    Dedicated 2-range tank team. I used to use this all the time, but it’s dropped off a lot since I started caring about bonus units. Faye runs Spd-stack + Null Follow-Up. She’s no Norne, but I already had Faye well before Norne existed, so, *shrug*. Nanna’s using a Witchy Wand set, and is actually filling in for Elise while the latter is on my ongoing Dark defense team experiment.

    Astra:

    Spoiler

    kVcxist.jpg

    Team Fire Lord. Ephraim in the Bonus Rotation made me try this, and I have absolutely no regrets. Edelgard runs Brave Axe+, Galeforce, and Quickened Pulse. The idea is that between Edelgard and Ephraim, the team can take down 5 enemies and leave someone non-threatening alive so I can go grab the Aether Structures. Trying to break buildings is rough, but it’s so much fun to use. Usually this slot is occupied by a team using Fallen Lyon for 2-range tanking.

    yym6EVc.jpg

    Standard Duo Alfonse team. Pulse Smoke doesn’t grow on trees, so Nils’ Even Pulse Tie works well enough in its stead (no Wings of Mercy kind of hurts, though).

    eiPuRBw.jpg

    Dragon Wagon redux. Sothis was originally in Light, but moved to Astra once I got Nagi, because Bramimond is evil and Naga eats Chill Spd and Bright Shrine. Unlike the Light Season variant, Idunn is mostly relegated to a support role here; Sirius is just too good.

    8Z1rPVO.jpg

    Vantage tanking, with Altina as the main fighter. Someday I’ll actually switch Lucina’s Ally Support to her... Forrest runs Melancholy+ (D) and Earthfire Balm+ (thanks pitybreaker Silque!), along with Restore+ (to reliably get Earthfire Balm up), Sabotage Atk, and Savage Blow (to get rid of Armored Boots).

    hlD4HcG.jpg

    A performance-focused Brunnya team that I haven’t used yet. This team’s existence is the reason I felt comfortable with displacing the Lyon team this season. Duo Micaiah remains on the team because she’s just that good, running Deflect Magic as a soft-check to Reinhardt and Thrasir if I need one. It would probably be nice against Cav Lines that aren’t too bow-heavy, now that I think about it.

    The Light teams are better, imo, with more play style options and versatility. Mythic supports definitely help in that department. I’ll have to see what I can do about the Astra teams going forward.

    Having overall better stats as well as good skills? Eirika is a year 1 unit, remember. Fallen Ike we got not even two months ago. He way powercreeps her.

    Oh. I thought you were directly comparing your Ike to Alexmender’s Eirika. My mistake there.

    28 minutes ago, Anacybele said:

    I also was focusing on buffing Ike with the support units, not so much trying to use Chaos Ragnell's effect. Because I'm aware that the starting enemies don't trigger it enough.

    I’m confused as to what makes Eirika’s feat mysterious, then. She stacked up more combat stat boosts than Ike is capable of stacking (on this map), so she was able to hit the Atk & Spd thresholds she needed.

    In this case, it’s possible to use Chills to lower the required thresholds, which is what I ended up doing when I tried with my Ike. As I mentioned (albeit in an edit to my initial post), I also needed to tweak the opening sequence to get the buffs & positioning right.

  3. @Maaka

    Missing a Bartre, instant dislike. Nice work on the clear! Seeing Gray live on 1 HP and dish out two 48s was amusing.

    @Diovani Bressan

    Always good to see the Marths in action. Or...Young Marth in action, with less-young Marth mostly cheering from the sidelines. I especially liked that Infantry Breath to prep Hero’s Blood in the opening. Nice job!

    @Landmaster

    It feels like it’s been a while since we last saw a good old-fashioned Elise rampage. She really put that Palm Tree to work! Did Rhys even get to see the castle? Using Martyr to squeeze out two Miracles was neat, as well. Nice work!

    2 hours ago, Anacybele said:

    This actually gave me the idea to try something very similar with Fallen Ike and the same support units and a lot of the same skills. But for some reason it never worked. Not for a one turn clear or close to it, anyway. Ike just would not kill as many enemies in one round as your Eirika, despite being a much more powerful unit overall. I gave him as many Atk buffs as I could and everything. But the problem of not getting the kill persisted and I don't understand what you did at all.

    In the end I did actually somehow clear it, but it of course it took a lot more turns than just one or two.

    I’m not sure what metric you’re using to define “more powerful...overall”, but Eirika does a much better job than Ike of taking advantage of that support structure. Refined Sieglinde’s stat boosts come from having nearby allies with field buffs, while Chaos Ragnell only works if Ike has penalties...and the only penalty-inflicting skill the starting six enemies have is the Rogue Dagger, which doesn’t do anything for his damage output.

    That said, I gave it a shot myself, and Ike should definitely be able to one-turn it. I had to give him one Dragonflower level...but I would hazard a guess that your Ike has merges, unlike mine. Edit: I also needed to tinker a little with the refreshers’ seals and give Ike Swap to get the desired results.

    ~

    Celica took her time, carefully playing around the castle to avoid getting swarmed.

    Spoiler

    Thrasir, on the other hand, went right for the throat...like usual.

    Spoiler

    This time the (admittedly uninspired) theme team is...heroes from Jugdral. Woo. I basically picked four good units and went in, poked things for a while, and ended up with this. I thought Julia and Olwen would do more, but Larcei just took over.

  4. @daisy jane

    Ooh, congrats on getting a phone that can handle recording FEH! I like how Dimitri stomped the bosses so thoroughly that he still had 100% HP for the blue mage fight. Byleth taking on the Brave weapon Cavalry was neat as well. Poor Edelgard, not getting to do anything...and Bernadetta had to sneak a KO out from under Byleth’s nose. Nice job!

  5. Awakening...Awakening...nope, I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard of that title.

    Phina, Young Caeda, Duo Palla, and Caeda cruised to victory. Catria died on the EP of T1 because 3 Mov + Feather Sword is fair and balanced. Special shout-out to Mae, who managed to deal enough damage to Caeda before getting taken out by Glacies to keep her under 50% HP for WoM shenanigans on the following turn.

  6. I do one-turns for every hero battle, which usually involves a lot of Galeforce, but some GHBs and BHBs let me get away with end-turning with Caeda (and sometimes, it’s a blend of both). For L/MHBs, I also do two PP Mage + refreshers clears, and one ??? clear. The ??? clear employs whatever strategy works best for the four units I threw together, so it’s impossible to lump that into any one category.

    So...

    1. Abyssal, no guides
    2. No Preference
    3. Nuke mages, Galeforce, refreshers
    4. No Preference
    5. Other
  7. @SatsumaFSoysoy

    Wow, I was expecting at least a little damage from the Axe Cav, but she just hard-walled everything physical. I like that you filled the remaining slots with her...family.

    @Maaka

    Nice clear, and neat use of Drag Back to get the positioning for the WoM chain.

    @Diovani Bressan

    Interesting, I see elements of my own attempt in those two clears. For his solo...that first turn was a little rough, but once he got Saizo’s Star on the enemies, it was all over. That Cleric came surprisingly close, though.

    @Landmaster

    I’m surprised that Elise took out that mage through Triangle Adept. Mirabilis eating two hits from Sully was pretty neat as well. Nice work!
    ~

    I don’t remember when or why I gave Caeda Cancel Affinity, but I’m not complaining.

  8. @Maaka

    I still get thrown off every time I see Spring Fir. I refuse to believe that carrot is an Axe, even if she swings it like one. Nice work on the clear, especially the Lunges to get Fir deep into enemy territory so the Bartres could warp in and do the things.

    @Diovani Bressan

    Nice work there, lots of premium B Passives on Marth, I see. Saizo did great work as usual, OHKOing those mages and even taking the hit from that (no-Def-penalty) Axe Dragon.

    @Landmaster

    I like how, up until the B Tome Cav got to her, Mirabilis just refused to take significant damage. It’s pretty impressive that you took on basically the entire battle scrunched up into that top left corner. Nice job!

  9. @Unknown Gamer11

    Nice work on your clear! I really liked the use of Altina, she put in a lot of work, especially in the opening. The Lilith warp/Reposition shenanigans were fun as well.

    @Landmaster

    Sophia kind of stole the show, imo. By my count, she fought 3/4 of the map’s enemies. She’s Sophia though, so I’ll give her a pass. Some cool maneuvers in there (besides the choke point bit at he end): I was really surprised that Elise survived hits from the Lance Dragon and Red Mage, and that Swap to put Elise in front of the Lance Fighter and Sophia in front of the Sword Armor, stuck out. Nice job!

    Does Null Follow-Up disable all skills that prevent follow ups?

    Yes.

    1 minute ago, Jotari said:

    Because Myrrh is now how double follow up protection from her original effect and her new skill. If that didn't give her one layer of protection against Null Follow-Up then I question what the point of having the second protection from follow ups provides.

    Null Follow-Up can currently not (and will hopefully never be able to) be neutralized. Her refine effect protects her against enemies' guaranteed follow-up effects. Otherwise, enemies with high enough Spd and a guaranteed follow-up skill (Bold Fighter, Hawk King Claw, etc.) would be able to break through Great Flame the same way they could before.

    @mampfoid and @LordFrigid and anyone with Galeforce experience, is it better to run Swift Sparrow or Atk/Spd Push for Galeforcers?

    Normally, for most nukes, I generally go with Swift Sparrow/Life and Death/Brazens/etc. since they work no matter how low HP goes. I generally do not use Pushes since it stops working at low HP. However, one advantage that Pushes have over other A slot skills is recoil damage.

    I currently have Atk/Spd Push on Fiora in Hall of Forms, but Swift Sparrow showed up just now, so I am not sure which skill I should go for. I am leaning towards Swift Sparrow, but I also really like the recoil damage from Atk/Spd Push for Wings of Mercy. Fiora does have pretty low Def, so maybe Atk/Spd Push is not necessary? She will mostly be used in PvE content and I do not think I am going to use her in PvP.

    If you're only going to use her for Galeforce in PvE content, I would prefer to use Swift Sparrow unless you're really worried that she's going to be missing that 1 Atk point. As you mentioned, you won't have to worry about an enemy dropping her below the threshold. I've never really had a problem with getting into Wings of Mercy range with a Swift Sparrow, Summoner Supported, +10 Caeda when I want to (although I guess Wing Sword lets her fight Lance Cavs, which occasionally comes in handy). Surprisingly, their stat lines are fairly comparable...I hadn't actually looked before.

    If you're really worried about it, you could always try to keep rolling for Life and Death.

    Huh...that's interesting. It honestly looks like it's just one new hero type (I'll just call it a "Link Hero" until we hear otherwise). Then the multitude of new two-image symbols is for when you give one such hero a blessing.

  13. Edit: I'm not really sure how to get the rest of my post separated from the update notes' text...I'm just going to leave it be.

    From today's update:

    Quote

    We have addressed an issue that prevented certain skills that have the "neutralizes unit's penalties" effect from interacting correctly with skills that have the "grants bonus to unit's Atk = total penalties on foe during combat" effect (such as Blizzard).

    The correct interaction is for skills that have the "grants bonus to unit's Atk = total penalties on foe during combat" effect to not grant this bonus from penalties neutralized by skills that have the "neutralizes unit's penalties" effect.

    The following skills with the "neutralizes unit's penalties" effect are affected:

    • Carrot Cudgel, Carrot Cudgel+
    • Gilt Fork, Gilt Fork+
    • Eagle's Egg
    • Atk/Res Bond 4
    • Atk/Spd Bond 4

    The following skills with the "grants bonus to unit's Atk = total penalties on foe during combat" effect are affected:

    • Blizzard
    • Broadleaf Fan, Broadleaf Fan+
    • Refined Spy's Dagger
    • Refined Blue-Crow Tome

    In addition to what they stated, I also re-ran this test from before:

    On 4/1/2020 at 9:06 PM, LordFrigid said:

    Huh. That’s...interesting, is the word I’m going with here.

    I ran a quick test myself in Paralogue 37-3, using Lilina's Forblaze to apply a Res penalty to Micaiah. Hrid did not get an automatic follow-up from Gjoll, as you described...but Yune, whose Chaos Manifest has a condition worded the exact same way, did get one.

    I can confirm that Hríd still does not receive a follow-up, and that Yune no longer receives a follow-up.

    Further testing shows that using both Gunnthrá and Bride Micaiah to apply -6/-6/-7/-7 to Brave Micaiah on the same map, Gunnthrá deals extra damage equal to the sum of the Spd and Def penalties without Dominance, and 2x the sum of the Spd and Def penalties with Dominance.

    I suspect that other skills that check for the existence of enemy penalties will behave the same way. So, from what I can tell (more thorough testing may be required), all interactions between skills that "neutralize penalties" and skills that check enemy penalties are the same across the board, meaning that skills that check enemy penalties (properly) require the penalty to not be neutralized.

    ...Thank goodness.

  14. 19 minutes ago, Jingle Jangle said:

    I thought that "dominance" was an all encompassing term for skills that dealt more damage based on the enemy debuffs.

    But Blizzard doesn't deal additional damage based on enemy's debuffs, it adds Atk based on the enemy's debuffs. That Atk is then subject to various modifiers (weapon triangle, effectiveness, etc). Dominance is raw damage.

    Edit: So basically, your statement is correct, but Dominance is the only thing in the game that actually has that effect.

  15. My most defining moment would have to go to the process of building up Caeda. It’s a long-ish anecdote, so I guess I’ll spoiler it.

    Spoiler

    It all started with the announcement of Skill Inheritance, followed relatively shortly by the reveal of the first Spring Special Heroes banner. I was thinking of this really weird Brave Sword/Swift Sparrow set, so it also made me put together a combat simulator so I could make sure that the build wasn’t total garbage. Surprisingly, I was pretty satisfied with how it worked with Flier support (key words: “with Flier support”), so it was a pretty good experience all around.

    Months later, she was sitting around at +4, when they released a series of banners from which I was really interested in pulling red (Katarina and Celica are the only units I remember off the top of my head...the latter may have been a revival of some sort), and I ended up with a ridiculous amount of Caeda pity-breakers (which is probably the only time I’ve been actively happy about pity-breakers). She ended up at +8, so I figured that I might as well spend the last 40k feathers for the +10.

    A long while after that, they finally gave her the Wing Sword, and I got her away from the Brave Sword set and had her run that. She now enjoys a nice existence, seeing use in just about every mode not named Arena. Then I built up a second one to serve as my castle rep (except during VGs), because I wanted to have a rep with a consistently good skill set to help out whatever friends ended up deploying her for GC/AB/whatever, and I’m constantly changing the main Caeda’s set to suit whatever she’s doing at the time.

    I guess I have two more, shorter defining moments. The first was when they added Infernal to Arvis’ GHB, and @mampfoid inducted me into the Galeforce Club (hard to believe that was over two years ago). The second was when I decided to start Aether Raids Offense after reading all the negative energy in the AR thread about a year ago.

  16. @Diovani Bressan

    Wow...Marth totally wiped the floor with those enemies at the top. I really liked your usage of Swap in this one. Nice work!

    @Maaka

    Legend has it that Bartre ignores the weapon triangle by simply not being aware that it exists. Always fun to see Galeforce Azura in action. Nice job!

    15 hours ago, Icelerate said:

    Isn't it fitting to use Y!Caeda against Milla? Caeda's Belief in Love prevails over the Goddess of Love.

    I’m pretty sure adult Caeda still believes in love, despite not having the actual B Passive.

    I guess thematically, sure, but realistically, it’s not like she’d survive Mila’s counterattack after taking that hit from the Lance Fighter.

    @SatsumaFSoysoy

    How could Celica betray Mila like that? Nice work on that clear! Another masterpiece from Celica, Kagero, Azura, and whichever staff Cav strikes your fancy. I really liked the Galeforce hit-and-run strikes, and getting Miracle up for the Sword Armor encounter was a nice touch.

    ~

    Speaking of Celica betraying Mila...Azura had to take the Lance Fighter later on, because the positioning was just too cramped to do anything else, but Celica & co. succeed again.

    Spoiler

    Thrasir did not care even a little bit, and marched right up into Mila’s face immediately. Securing control of the upper section of the map made things a lot easier.

    Spoiler

    Theme team this time was”Corrin’s Besties”. It was originally going to be “Corrin’s Retainers”...but Felicia, Silas, Kaze, and Gunter just don’t offer the same value that Azura does. Oh well.

    I guess it ended up being more of a Lilith show than anything else, but I’m totally fine with that. I’ve been puzzling over how I can use her more anyway.

  17. Late reply time.

    @SatsumaFSoysoy

    Another Naga user, I see. Altina put in a lot of work there. Nice work!

    Nice job! At least the Elises got the bosses. Speaking of which, nice maneuvering, getting the enemies in a position to minimize Corrin’s stat stacking.

  18. I managed to get through Chamber 20 by hard focusing Lyn and Nino, with three rolls going to Ninian and Fiora (Dance, Atk/Spd Gap, and Smite...absolutely incredible RNG there). I thought I was going to get walled by an Idunn before I remembered that Giga Excalibur’s bonus damage bypasses defenses.

    Lyn still doesn’t have an A Passive, which annoys me. However, I did discover that +1 Nino with Giga Excalibur and +5 Lyn with Mulagir have the same Atk & Spd total, which is all kinds of fun.
