Happy to see they are keeping the weekly revival banners going. It might still be possible for me to +10 my favorites from Book 1 like Linde and Celica. Might be a good opportunity to pick up good fodder like Close and Distant Counter as well.

i'm wondering really if it makes sense to just end the dream and not bother saving, planning to +10 Elincia. (i firmly believe in makingthe decisions w/the information you know. but man had i even gone for 2 copies on her revival week, i would only need five) only need five she says...

 

Elincia is a favourite buti don't know if it's more prudent to invest things with meta and will help me in other modes.

I'm on Est's team for round 2 of GQ.

SUPER happy they're bringing the revival banners back! There's quite a few Book 1 characters I still haven't gotten (Linde, Celica, Mist, Ryoma, Leo, Sonya, Karel...) so I'd like to hopefully fill in those holes. I'd also like merges for regular Lyn and the remaining CYL 1 units I don't have at +10 yet, those being Roy, Ike, and Lucina. That's too much to hope for in these reruns but hey, gotta try.

She can do Galeforce, so I think she is pretty meta. Brave Galeforcers might have a bit more difficulty activating Galeforce though compared to Slaying Galeforcers, but she technically does not need Heavy Blade Sacred Seal for her first Galeforce assuming she lands all four hits.

I'd say Elincia is still really good, especially with her great refine. For example, she's definitely one of the greatest units you could use in Røkkr Sieges, and her being +10 would be helpful there. I definitely understand the feeling of being uncertain when there are so many nice options for merge projects though, but I think Elincia would be a very respectable choice.

I'm definitely going for +10 Tana now that the revial banners are getting another run, I need only 5 more. I also kind of want to aim for a +10 Amelia, but both their banners are a bit close to each other so it might be difficult to go for both this time around. If more reruns happen in the future I know what to do though.

I am wishing i had gone for at least 2 copies of Elincia. that would have been +5, and then you know i didn't need seven lol 
there's also HInoka. (I got a few copies on my birthday and I need a few more and she's done. so i could do that while chasing down close counter) - honestly had i gotten more Tanas, i'd probably do that as well. i J'ADORE Fliers. haha).

originally my plan had been - get as many has Brave Camilla as I can on her legendary debut, Sothises (sothis(i)) and Julia because they are MEAN (and thus i wanna be mean). and really "prepare" for Book 2 Yanking. (because I'd love to +10 Micaiah) as well as you know. be tempted by the new stuff. 

 

i can save up orbs if i put my mind to it, and i know for the most part, i forgot legendaries/mythics because they come back. but there are also some seasonals i gave up strictly because i was saving up for Mia. 

But i do think i I can get Elincia done. (Nephenee not so much. I have to Waifu Choose here lol). 

it doesn't help that i think oh maybe i should do Lanceina instead For Arena support. 
(it triply doesn't help that a lot of things in blue are so not of interest to me anymore)

Looking at this again, I don't have Sigurd, Julia, Mist, Ryoma, Minerva, Katarina, Olwen, Dorcas, Eldigan, Karel, Gray, Leo or Elise from these banners but the only units I really care about there are probably Dorcas and Karel. Everyone else is a bonus at best so...

Going all in on week 4 for Lyn. going back in on week 7 for CC fodder. Then stopping in on week 12 to finally go in hard for Dorcas and then maybe some casual attempts for Karel and that's about it.

Anything else is a bonus and I doubt I'll spend orbs. But any of the units I don't already have would be great and of course DC/Steady Breath is always fantastic. I had a really terrible time with the legendary, seasonal and even hero banners this last season of the year but these weekly banners treated me kind. Of course Lyn merges above all would be the most appreciated.

The book 1 units I don't have are Lyn, Hector, Julia, Genny (though I did pull her once, I foddered her), Ayra, Brave Lucina, Eldigan, Dorcas, Innes, Lute, and Jaffar. Out of these though, I'd only care to have Ayra and Eldigan.

And I'd like to get another Gray so I can finally fix the -Atk on my current one.

After getting Olwen, Lute and Dorcas recently, the only units I'm missing from book 1 are Minerva, Mist, Saber and Gray. I also don't technically have Faye, but I have had her before so she's registered in my catalog. Looking at them, there's very few book 1 units I've ever actively aimed for, most of them have just come as off focus units over the years. Some of them I was happy for, but some I'm really happy are not on new banners anymore. I've got bad memories of Luke and Leo before they were removed. Wouldn't mind getting Minerva sometime though, and perhaps regaining Faye.

Only Gen 1 units I'm missing are Alm, Luke and Ephraim, but I'm not that crazy for any of them so I'll try to free pull them and we'll see how it goes depending on my orb situation at the time.

The trouble with Elincia here is that her re-run will start pretty much smack dab in the middle of the 3rd Anniversary event which means there's probably going to be a lot of bait around. Not sure I can justify spending any real amount of orbs around that period. That said, if the centrepiece of the event is a repetition of the idiotic "voting" event from this year, maybe it's just as well.

I'm not asking for much in that I have no intention of +10ing any 5* exclusive unit, it's just that I've only ever pulled two copies and both were +HP -Atk. I'd rather like to get rid of that HP boon, and even a neutral copy would be plenty acceptable as a new base.

 

And since everyone's doing it, Book 1 unit I'm missing:

- Deirdre, but I have Julia so I'm not fussed about her.

- Mist, and I hope I never get her

- Faye, but as nice as Firesweep Bow is, I wouldn't fodder the only copy I have of any given unit. But I wouldn't use her either, so eh.

- Innes, not a niche I need to fill.

- Genny, plenty of other units from which to get Wrathful/Dazzling Staff these days and past that she's just another infantry healer with a questionable statline.

- Ayra, interesting but no longer a star.

- Olwen, sadly obsolete.

- Saber, just another infantry sword.

- Ryoma, laughably obsolete too.

- Azura, nothing unique to offer as a dancer.

- Gray, see Saber.

- Karel, see Gray.

- Leo, was never relevant.

- Elise, no longer special in any way.

 

Phew, that's a lot of units, more than I thought. But it reaffirms my belief that I don't want any of them.

yeah i've noticed Elincia (and Hectors) are smack in the middle of "heeey we've got a LOT OF STUFF GOING ON HERE!"

i hope you get a good IV Elincia. my thing might even be try to get a few on her 4% banner and i think she's been on a Heroes with X banner and they revive those so whatever i don't get, i'm good

Thanks. I do have +10 Palla (and Aversa) so it's not like she's critical to any of my teams, but she's more a more versatile option for general use with no real dependencies: no need for a flier team to support her, and a brave weapon is a safer counter to units like LAlm. Doesn't help that we still don't have a lance flier with a Brave Prf despite the gajillion units in that category.

I know what you mean. 
Caeda's got her role a mage bate/horsey/armour killer. 
but i find (and this could be with her being with Sumia and i run her w/Airzura), Elincia is a very fine duelist even w/her player-phase build (mine has her SS refine and SS3). I do intend to give her sturdy impact once i get it just for that extra def safety. 

I'm wondering if that would be Cordelia brave prf, with a 2 penalty cooldown.

Certainly hope so. I've been hoarding copies of both her and Shigure waiting for both to get refines so I can pick one or the other. By the time they both have their refines, Thea might be in the 3-4* pool and waiting for a refine too...

I've ruled out Catria and Est because their activation conditions are too much of a hassle to have outside of very specialised teams. No Clair (I'm fine with her at +1) because I'd like to hurt things without relying on effective damage. No Shanna because Desperation is far too valuable. No Florina or Subaki because ...they're not very good.

I love Clair (so i eventually intend to build her) but i hear you. 
I did do an Est - I run her in my arena team she's still good w/o the conditions. (My team for ref is Soleil/Fae/Bonus or Soleil/Myrrh/Bonus) so i very rarely have the condition active. 
I was considering a DC Shanna (because of her mixed bulk/good res), Florina would be great for mage bating but more and more threats are Green - not so much blue I find. (I mean there's always Ophelia, but you need Sky High Res to counter Julia anyway,). I feel that Shigure will get something more defensive/wo-daoish (maybe something like FIr's weapon in lance form). leaving Cordelia with maybe the Brave Lance.  (and like they did for Klein, reduce the penalty). 

and of course Hinoka/tana/And Sumia (No prf) are 5* locked, and they are mixed duelists, (or more so enemy phase for Tana/Sumia)

Food becomes obsolete when it comes out your ass and plops into the toilet. It's even more fleeting than gacha rewards, and yet I can be pretty certain to say that luxury restaurants are a much bigger market than gacha games globally.

The part of loot boxes that is unethical is not the amount of money being spent on them or their transience. It's the fact that they appeal to the "I might get what I want with one more roll" mentality that people can be susceptible to.

Any argument about spending money on things that don't stick around is laughable.

A rather ew way to put it, but Ice Dragon's right here. The only difference between food and gacha spending is that one is absolutely necessary for survival. And there are other "things that don't stick around" that people spend money on but don't need to as well. Paper products for instance. Most of them are not absolutely necessary and get thrown away when done being used.

That's a prize to be won as far as shitty analogies go.

Once you require the orbs like you do calories to survive, perhaps it'll be of some value to compare them.

It’s a pretty big difference though. If you stop spending on food, you starve to death. If you stop spending on gacha, you just have a lower budget to work with. This isn’t even necessarily a bad thing if it affects how you play.
