Yeah, or rather they localised the Japanese term to something slightly different. It seems the E3 2018 English build was still a work in progress.

They recently changed Skill to Dexterity, Professor Levels to Skill Levels, Skills to Abilities and so forth.

I think Brawling is a pretty interesting choice. I guess Fighting was too generic and could be confused with the Fighter class. Whereas there's a Brawler with Brawling.

I'm talking about the one that appears just before the giant worm. It's covered in bandages.

Oh, it's just called a "Monster". Might be a generic one.

It has the Cracked Crest Stone like the King of Beasts (or a crest stone shard), so I thought they were the same when the scene went flying past.

BTW, here's the video with English subtitles:

Again, a big thanks to @SatsumaFSoysoy

That's a great write up Vincent! Only 3 weeks to launch so you'll have some rest soon, haha.

Missed this, but that's when my real work starts lol

Also, something I forgot to mention...

By the way, I’m unsure if there’s a connection, but the Dark Stones equipped by the three giant monsters share the same name as the Dark Stone–the by-product of the Fire Emblem in

The Sacred Stones. What’s more, in the early version of that game, there were monsters equipped with Dark Stone Shards…

Finally we get a look at Miasma Delta and boy if looks rad - even though for some reason it has 100% Crit so maybe Petra's thing wasn't a mistake either 😕

I think they rigged it. Petra does have a skill that boosts critical rate, but only by 20.

I don't think Hubert has anything. Now, I know there are high critical spells (like Ruin), but 100 is still pretty ridiculous XD

Is that how people would have seen it 25 years ago (when the translation happened) as well though?

I don't live in a country where it's a common name (for any generation), so I wouldn't have a clue.

Yeah, I dunno about FF, but Tina is a pretty common name. Obviously, in Japan, it's not and is thus considered an exotic name.

Similarly, for them, Demon Lord Dave would probably sound really cool xD

Yeah, I think it’s time for a new event next time. Despite not needing it so hardly, Fire could use a facility event by now. I’ve refrained in participating in the event for now. Focused in attempting to defeat High Mercury again. I did it at last

Yeah, it's weird how Fire is the only element lacking an event facility, unless I'm remembering wrong. Yeah, it doesn't need it per se since High Midgardsormr is relatively easy to gear up for. But still, it can help a lot for, say, ranged units trying to consistently survive.

Congrats! I think I've started getting the hang of High Mercury now. Before, I kept dying to the combo of Bursting Bubbles and Aqua Spiral at the ~1:00 min left mark. TBH, I still forget about it, but I haven't died to it this week XD

Speaking of, I'm really curious how strong the next two high dragons will be, especially *if* they're releasing augments before them...

  7. Yeah, Level 40 Wind Gauntlet right now is mainly for people with really stacked teams and/or great optimisation. I think I got to 27 before I got stuck. Helper Elisanne really helps a lot.

For most people, you're supposed to wait until the Augment feature is unlocked later on this month. That should significantly increase your HP and Strength.

Also, I agree about expensive costs. Money isn't a huge issue as you can farm Avenue to Fortune, etc. But Eldwater is tough to get without summoning. Thankfully, during the middle of the month, you can get lots of Eldwater from the Gauntlet treasure box.

Anyway, I thought the timing for the new year raid re-run was kinda odd. They just repeated Ieyasu's banner recently, which they could've saved for now. But they're clearly promoting Yaten and Natalie for the raid. Not really sure how they're planning these things, haha.

Hopefully we get a Summer facility event next. Maybe Fire? Please?!

You know what i thought of?

So we did see Lysithea post-time skip right? But Thani said that she is dying and has limited time left, and will die after time skip.

I think what is going to happen is she will actully die, but only AFTER the game is over.

Meaning the "drama" still hapen but you also get to keep a character, so from gameplay stand point you dont loose her.

I was thinking this might be an option, but...

from all the hints, it does seem like it'll be an event that occurs during the game. Perhaps even soon after the time skip.

Basically, I wouldn't get your hopes up. With that said, I am personally gonna grind her to the max level like other temporary members in other RPGs.

It's been shown that you can gain support points that you don't necessarily use yet; so my idea is that that shows all supportable units even if they're not necessarily playable in the map shown.

Yeah, plus according to the leaks... Very minor spoilers(?)

You can gain supports with NPCs. So the support list might not be indicative of the playable cast.

  10. I think you might have misunderstood the game's structure?

The monastery is really just a fancier and non-mandatory My Castle. At the end of every month, you will go out to a different location to have a battle. Then the next chapter/month begins. The first part of the game is 12 months, so 12 chapters/battles. I'm guessing the 2nd part is about the same length, so you've got around 24 story battles.

So it's just like every other Fire Emblem, except there's a lot more preparation time (which you can even skip if you want).

There might even be other story missions before the month's end. I'm not sure though.

Aren't the Japanese versions of these somewhat phonetic? (I recall some initial translations of Lorenz's bio saying he was from "Glostar".) What does the Japanese for Samhain in Leonie's bio look like?

Edit: it looks like Sets on twitter did translate it as "Sawin". So you're in luck @Azz!

Japanese is a phonetic language. That's why when you're translating Japanese names to English, you need to bear that in mind. This often trips up more amateur translators.

TBH, I "cheat" most of the time and Google the Japanese name first if it seems obscure. Like Samhain village. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have known that was a valid translation and gone with something simpler like "Sawin" (which is how it's spelled in Japanese).

Leicester and Gloucester are spelled Resutaa and Gurosutaa in Japanese, which is really close to their intended pronunciations.

  12. I think you've all got good reason to worry.

I have a feeling a lot of people dunno how to pronounce Leicester and Gloucester, although they're pretty well known in the UK.

Anyway, I'm really curious what the next profiles will be. I'm guessing it's all Knights of Seiros and academy people from here on. Would be nice to know about the likes of Cyril, Flayn and Tomas as well.

Ah, Flame Emperor was the guy sending assassins against the three lords in the opening of the game, Byleth saved them and thus hired by the academy later.

On the other hand, despite people saying church is bad, we haven't be told any crime the church did, instead everything so far is saying church is the keeper of peace....

It's possible although unlikely that the Flame Emperor was just trying to scare away the house leaders. I also have a feeling the bandits aren't entirely under his control (like his own soldiers are), so it's more like they let them loose. Perhaps they didn't expect any deaths to happen until Byleth showed up to play the hero?

As for the church, we have a full blown rebellion against them, which kind of speaks for itself. They've been described as keepers of peace, but we don't really know their methods--and clearly some people aren't happy. I'm guessing there's a corrupt side to the church somewhere, like the Begnion senate. Unless they're actually full on crazy.
