Does anyone happen to know when the skill self destruct activates on the faceless reinforcements? Like is it right after the round of combat that brings hp below 50, start of enemy phase, start of player phase, or what?

@Armagon Since you are our resident Xeno expert...

My brother has been stuck at the Boss fight with

Spoiler

Transformed Melia's brother, Spike Hell

And he can't play with Melia, which makes the fight extra hard...

Do you have any tips?

Hey! I'm here too!

Shulks Monado arts are ether, and they did just award you with cyclone.

I recommend Dunban for Peeless Aura, which boosts physical damage, which you will be relying on if you dont use Melia.

Dont go in the acid, you die that way. Xd.

What are your skill links setup?

Chain attacks can deal monstrous damage as well.  Melia's discharge can be used to stack multipliers easily. Take advantage of that.

Also, if you have yellow/red tagged enemies, your wasting your time.

And Corrin died because Siegbert’s death caused me to go “heck it” and use the riskiest strategy of all time. I mean a 9% crit isn’t that big of a risk but still

I was probably gonna reset anyway though, so... back to 27!

yeah i tell him that, but he doesn't know how to Melia, at all xD

The problem is more with the Spike damage since that is dangerous

Well you can max her talent art out of that battle, then go into the boss fight while the AI control her. Since the AI wont use it, you can just chain attack in a well mannered timeframe and pretty much wipe then out.

Wait, is this DE? If so, just use the time attack store and buy gems and such to make the game easymode.

Haha, indeed. And it's a RF staple, as it is. Practically every RF protagonist has amnesia too. 4 spices things up by showing us the moment their protagonist gets his/hers.

Barring ToD! And the 2nd Gen of RF2 of course.

not like there are many S-rank wepaons anyway or them being needed

Yeah, the Fates S ranks are fairly bad. Hagakure Blade and Waterwheel (what's the reference here?) are novelty in the defensive boosts, but kill your offense (though the Waterwheel is a better Guard Naginata if you've 28 Str or less). Old Excalibur and the new Pursuer and Chakram are the opposite. Aurgelmir is offensive but with a limiting offensive drawback, and Bifrost could be better. I liked how they tried to split the stuff equally between Nohr and Hoshido, but theres no lore to any of these weapons either.

See if their team can include  Dundun or Bird Lady if they've learned their Spike resistance skills. Characters sufficiently bonded to either of those two can spend Affinity Coins to get access to those Spike resistance skills.

Alternatively or in tandem with, equip Spike Defense Gems in your armor. You can trade for Spike Defense IIIs and IVs with the following:

Rank III

Trade

Rank IV

Quest

Trade

Do they actually help? I've noticed that their effect is minimal at best....

Did they remove some of the Dragon veins in Lunatic Stairways? There are less Dragon veins than i remember

Yes, they did...

Ouch. Having to redo 26 is really obnoxious, even if it isn't that hard...

I was not aware of that, because I don't have DE, not yet. I intend to upgrade to it come the holidays, because I'm so threadbare for new games or other material desires this happiest season, that I am willing to double-dip on a game for a change.

It's percentage-based. Each III SD gem offers 20-26% reduction, each IV 28-34%. These are additive, so if you slapped five minimum-value SD IIIs into your armor, you'd get 100% resistance.

there's no max value? Because other % based gems max at 50%

It varies based on the type of gem. But for Spike Defense, the maximum is 100%, although a Mega Heated SD VI gem is only a 75% reduction, so you'd have to use up a second gem slot for 100% resistance, unless you used Melia's anti-Spike skill as well.

27* oops that’s what I meant, I saved before then. Actually I’m assuming you knew that, because 26 is hard xD

It’s not as bad as having to redo Birthright’s chapter 27 twice because Corrin missed a 72 on each endgame attempt though :’)
