To the point where I did a double take when I played through Super Metroid and heard the tune. Hear for yourselves Obviously each game in their respective series have their own variations to the tune but you can hear both of these examples and see what I mean. And according to comments, the composer for Ys 1 straight-up said that he was inspired by the Metroid item tune (even if this feels a little bit more than inspiration).
