Maybe Marvel and DC or a long-running film franchise like James Bond and Godzilla could do something similar. I doubt Doctor Who's original creators expected that it would still be ongoing 60 years later, even if it went on hiatus from 1989 to 2005, which is quite impressive.

Does Destoroyah being created from the Oxygen Destroyer count as a new plot point? Though Godzilla as a franchise was only around 40 years old at the time.

Probably. I think she doesn't give it out until after you clear your first dungeon. But depending on how often you pass through Lookout Landing, you may or may not miss her (and others). My general tips for the game

• The Depths are a mirror of the Surface. Lightroots are directly underneath Shrines. Mountains are canyons and vice versa. Bodies of water on the Surface are unpassable walls in the Depths. 
• Fuse a Hover Stone to an arrow for a quick platform. Shield surfing with a bomb shield can also be used for a higher jump.
• There are Ascend points in the Depths that allow you to seamlessly go to the Surface. Most of these are placed near the Glyphs (the map in the Forgotten Temple can be used for reference actually)
• In addition to doing all the main quests, i'd recommend doing all the Side Adventures too, preferably before beating the game (well Messages from an Ancient Era is a pain so you can skip that one). Reason i say this is that the Side Adventures really feed into the game's overall theme. Like Xenoblade 3, it's half the story imo.
  • The Side Quests are the more generic ones, i use quest as a catch all term but for categorization purposes, you don't have to do every Side Quest if you don't want to. Though there's still some good ones in there.
• There's a method to repair weapons: let a Rock Octorcok eat it. Though they are only found in Death Mountain so only do it when you're in the area. Don't worry about it too much, Fuse can make even shitty weapons good.
• Breaking an unfused weapon will make a "pristine" version of it available from the ghosts in the Depths. But i also didn't bother too much with this tbh. Milage may vary.
• Jumping into the Depths cancels the Blood Moon for that night.

Well the thing with Doctor Who is that it's one continuity. Marvel, DC and Godzilla are not. This is why the 2005 series started with the Ninth Doctor.

In the winter of 1614-1615, Ieyasu (now abdicated but still unofficially ruling over his adult son, a way of saying "my family rules this country, not just me") placed Osaka Castle, where Hideyori amassed an army of ronin and other samurai, to siege. Ieyasu penetrates the outer perimeter but then there's a truce. And then the truce ends shortly before the summer of 1615, which is when Hideyori is killed. (The 1638 Shimabara Rebellion (a peasant rebellion that just so happened to have Christian elements) would be the only other instance of great instability in Japan for the next 200 years.)

You might think "this was inevitable, who leaves the person who they usurped alive?", and it is quite possible that Hideyori was eventually going to get killed no matter what. But, during the Kamakura Shogunate, after the first two shoguns, who reigned no more than ten years combined, the shoguns got sidelined. The Hojo clan (not related to the Sengoku-era Hojo clan, they intentionally borrowed the name of the earlier one), through the office of Shikken ("Regent"), became the de facto rulers of Japan, which they would continue to be until the end of the Kamakura Shogunate. So, for most of the first shogunate, Japan had two figureheads, both a symbolic Emperor and a powerless Shogun.

I'm not that familiar with how the Japanese imagined themselves at the time.😅 Although I'd think the strongest loyalty would be to one's clan -at least if you were a samurai, or aristocrat in Kyoto- and then probably to one's province. Bolded- the Shimazu clan is an interesting example for you to pick.😄 They sided against Ieyasu in 1600. Being on the losing side, they should've lost a lot of territory and wealth. -But they actually got to keep most of central and southern Kyushu as part of their feudal han ("domain")- Satsuma Domain.

The reason was simple, southern Kyushu was very distant from Edo, not so easy for the Shogun to control, and probably not worth the bother of messing with as long as the Shimazu behaved. As matters of precaution, the Tokugawa Shogunate would force their daimyo (the major warlords) to visit Edo and pay homage to their liege every other year, and that the daimyos' families be held captive in Edo when they weren't there.

The Shimazu also improved their image with the Shogunate by asking if they could conquer the Ryukyu Islands (the decently-known Okinawa is one of them). They got permission and while the Ryukyu Islands remained nominally independent (good for Japan b/c China mostly refused to directly trade with Japan and Japan the same) under their king, the Shimazu conquered the islands and forced the kings of the Ryukyu into pledges of feudal loyalty towards them. Thus the Shogun gained a nice new vassal via their vassal, can't hate that.

Nonetheless, the Shimazu were labeled Tozama because they had sided against Ieyasu in 1600. Tozama clans were still part of the feudal system, they weren't massacred, but they were denied the highest levels of samurai rank and prestige. Fudai daimyo were those who had shown loyalty to the Tokugawa and were societally rewarded for it. Fast forward to the mid-1800s, and the Tozama (the Shimazu among them), having spent generations as second-tier samurai b/c of one mistake their ancestors had made, were notable advocates of restoring the Emperor to power and toppling the Shogun.

Also, the samurai education system of the Edo period tended to emphasize loyalty to the Shogun. Yet, I did read that in Satsuma Domain, the education was very "the Shimazu are the greatest who ever lived". Again, probably b/c distance from the capital would let them get away with it.

...And no, I do not know everything about feudal Japan. The Shimazu I've just happened to learn a bit about.😆

Considering the likely weakness of the Dawn Brigade going into this (particularly on the higher difficulties), thank the Goddess it can be turtled.

Although it does make the Black Knight's belated appearance unneeded, since if you can survive long enough for him to arrive, you probably don't need to waste kills on him.

Hmm... Chapter 6 of TDatP is going to cover the game's Chapter 2, and now I wonder... how I will deal with the battle? For all the years I've written, big battle scenes are actually something I've rarely done. Should a story call for any sort of scuffle, I've either just skipped it, cover it in a super condensed way, or something like that. Even the longest and most detailed fight scene I've done, that I recall, wasn't overly complex either.

This is something I really need to address, because for something like TDatP, it's inevitable it'll cover lots of battles, and I can't just have all happen off-page... maybe...

I think it's more "feel free to murderise any playable characters that are on the current enemy's side". As in, keeping Ike or Soren alive is not your primary concern, since they won't actually die.

The king asked PP leader Feijoo to create a government because he got the most votes, even though he was six congress votes away from being able to form a government. After that he spent a month reiterating the same tired pantomimes about how Sanchez is going to "break Spain" by granting pardon to one of the independentist head honchos. Then the day of investiture arrived and what do you know, he failed to attain an absolute majority by a margin of six votes. Because Vox and independentists are mutually exclusive and Feijoo would need the support of both.

So uh, yeah. There's a good chance we go to elections again. Even if a government is formed, regardless of who it is, it's going to be so fragmented that the moment they start trying to pass laws, they're going to fall apart and we go to early elections anyway. Not really the best time to go "okay let's raise the taxes so we can pay our American overlords their protection fee."

Fun fact: If Lethe is dead, she gets replaced with a bossman called Kezhda. He's the only black cat in the entire duology.

They'd both try to block it, crash into each other in midair, and then the attack connects anyway, but since Ike is overpowered it does nothing to him. Ike then reacts in a boring way.

Like with Jill defecting to Shiharam's side, this is something I wish they'd had the balls to make unavoidable, unless some manner of requirement is met. As with the former, this amounts to little more than a cute detail to make you go "huh, neat" and then proceed to just sidestep it because it'd mean shooting yourself in the foot, no matter how little sense it makes for Zihark to stay on Daein's side here.

Nope. This is how our system works. You need an absolute majority to govern. Make what alliances you need to get there, but you need it, no two-ways about it. With the recent(ish) fall of bipartidism, it's become tougher to do that. PP can't save its own hide, because it requires the assistance of both the alt-right who doesn't believe in autonomies and the independentists who want their autonomies to become fully-fledged countries. The left has a chance to pull it off, for a time, but the independentists aren't necessarily left-leaning parties, and their interests won't always align, which would cause problems sooner or later.

Who knows, though. Sanchez has a knack for impossible situations. Throughout his recent political career, everyone's taken turns stabbing him on the back. They've made up a hundred mocking nicknames for him, accused him of every crime to have ever happened on the planet and predicted all short of instant armaggedon should he get another term. To his face. Vox tried to cast a vote of no confidence on him, with... spectacularly poor results. He even got pushed out of his own party for a time! And the dude's just come back from each of these things stronger. I can see him defying all expectation and making a coalition with the independentists work... again. Because he already did it once lol, though the situation wasn't quite as fragmented then.

What PP does have is an absolute, independent (ironic) majority in the senate, but that's of little use to them if they can't grab the congress. Best they could really hope to do that is slow down (not stop) the passing of laws.
