Some of the newer SRW's let you skip right in the middle of them, and/or fast forward through the animation. As it is, you can toggle them On or Off before each one happens, no matter the phase. So you certainly have the freedom to chose when to see them. It's certainly nice. In the older games you couldn't skip them. Eltosian Kadath
All right, Madino taken on turn 11 (so 130 total), I did wait one turn to reposition (and spent an extra one in battle getting Jamke a sword to pass down, as I think I will try marrying him to Ayra...), which I am not proud of, but Aideen ended up a little too close to Silvail for my comfort (Lex was even closer, but the only one he needs to worry about is Eltosian himself...). I love the opening to this chapter, where there are forces converging on your main castle from all sides, and you have to split your forces to deal with all of these threats pressing in. Although the next bit is going to get tense, Eltosian and his cross knights are so dangerous, and I pulling off the Lachesis talk safely is always a tricky maneuver... Eltosian Kadath
All right, I could have finished this chapter on turn 38, but Claude's legendary quest for the gold to revive both Dew and Lachesis (and Dew was able to pass just enough gold to revive Holyn as well, so why not?), and then feeling obliged to get the wind sword from the secret event Dew has where he breaks into Blaggi tower have made me finish it on turn...66 (so 185 overall...). I guess that did also give me some spare time to do some healing and relationship grinding, so Ayra and Jamke are married, and I fed some kills to Arden for funsies, and Beowulf accidently got the boss kill by procing Accost...alot... Not "old", merely middle-aged or later. "Mature" shall be defined as "does it look like person could have children approaching pubescence or older than that?". Almost anyone barring the children characters could have toddlers, so older than that is necessary for their children. Admittedly, there is room for subjectivity here. Here I go!: Hide contents Archanea: ~17 Gaiden: ~5 (And maybe Cipher's Randal) Genealogy: 3 Not surprising, because Gen 2 is mostly children, and Gen 1 is adults who need to make children, they don't want to look too old. Was unsure about including Shannan, so I didn't. Thracia: ~13 (Some of these I'm quite shaky on.) Binding: ~15 (But I'm quite iffy on Igraine and Astolfo.) Blazing: ~14 Sacred: ~7 (I was considering Seth, but nah, I left off Camus and Perceval and he feels similar to them.) Tellius: ~29 (Sigrun was left out because she looks younger than Tanith, but I could be ageist against short hair. I'm ditching Tanith instead. Ranulf was left out b/c limbo visually too. Janaff is supposed to be older than Ulki, but looks younger too. Sephiran was excluded too.) Awakening: ~5 (I considered Priam, Libra, and California Stoner Vaike, but opted for no.) Fates: ~8 (I considered Benny.) Three Houses: ~10 Raphael, Hubert, Dedue, Hanneman, Seteth, Gilbert, Alois, Catherine, Manuela, Jeritza. TearRing Saga: ~14 (Considered Roger and Zieg.) Hah! Not bad, not bad at all. I think the Three Houses list is a bit wonky (Raphael, Hubert and Dedue are here but not Mercedes and Shamir even though they're older than all of them?), but still, a cool list. 7 hours ago, BrightBow said: About right. Ruben said this map was the worst, so that’s a good sign, but I really really don’t want this to be another Awakening... Well... to be honest, chapter 5 might be worse, but I was past the point of caring by then, so I just pressed on and didn't give a damn about all the deaths. After that, though? Contrary to popular opinion, I don't find chapter 7 to be all that bad. There's a couple of annoying moments involving bosses with siege tomes and one particular boss that has like a billion avoid and a legendary tome, but beyond that, it's fine. Actually, so far I've found gen 2 to be a lot more enjoyable than gen 1. I dunno, the maps just feel better to me. Helps that in gen 2 you don't have to look up a guide to get half of the good weapons. 2 hours ago, Eltosian Kadath said: Ugh... more bad luck strikes, as one bad miss (and the cross knights having clever AI) lets them gang up and take Lachesis down the turn she talks her brother away. Radney promotes to hero! First in the series, as far as I'm aware, since Larcei just goes swordmaster. Boring. I knew it was the right choice to go for the substitutes. Also, Daisy just married Shanan. I guess she stole his heart as well as his sword, that one time.
